and the little dog laughed. is an Australian brand founded in 2008 by designer Kylie Platt, who set out to make soft toys that outlast childhood — built from natural fibers, finished with the kind of detail that shows up after years of use rather than fading. Percy Lion is part of their minis range: compact enough for a newborn's grip, weighted just right for the small, persistent hand that will carry him everywhere.

His body is a soft wool blend in warm neutral tones, and his knitted mustard jumper is prepared from Australian merino wool — fine, pill-resistant, the kind of wool that gets softer with washing. At 25cm, he fits in a coat pocket, a nappy bag, a stroller cup holder. He is, in the best possible way, inescapable.
