The going-home set, a blanket for the season they arrived in, a book to read aloud, a first bar of soap, and one thing for her.
Why we built it
A baby born this time of year arrives in the middle of everyone else's celebrating. The First Season gives them something of their own to mark it.
The pieces, and why
Luna + Luca, Bring Me Home Kimono Set in Cloud
The going-home set.
A kimono bodysuit that wraps and ties rather than pulling over the head, with matching pants, a knotted beanie and a coordinating blanket, all in the same organic cotton blend.
The Blueberry Hill, Organic Cotton Ski Blanket
The season they arrived in.
Knit in GOTS-certified organic cotton and patterned for the ski season, 32 by 40 inches, sized for the stroller and the car seat. Designed in Salt Lake City.
Chronicle Books, Bunny Slopes
Read aloud, and the book does the rest.
Claudia Rueda's picture book about a bunny on his first ski run. Shake the book to make it snow, tilt it to send him down the slope. For ages 0 to 5.
Paloroma, Smooth Sailing Gentle Cleansing Bar
The first bath.
Unscented, with colloidal oatmeal, Roman chamomile and shea butter, made for newborn and sensitive skin. From the Brooklyn label founded by Jane Keltner de Valle and Giancarlo Valle. 4.2 oz.
ACTIVIST, A.M.S Mānuka Honey Lip Balm
The one thing for her.
Raw mānuka honey at 850+ MGO with mānuka oil and organic beeswax, in a refillable polished-metal tube, from the Topanga house ACTIVIST.
