Why we built it

The Classics is the Edit we built for the giver who would rather send literature than almost anything else. Six primers chosen as a starting library, not the books the baby reads but the books the parents want on the nursery shelf. The cross-section is the point: Russian, English, American, Shakespearean, Victorian and Austen, in one row.

It is also the Edit that photographs best on a shelf, which matters more than it sounds. These are objects a household keeps.

All six are board-book editions, sized for early hands. The set is fixed, six titles, no substitutions.
